I removed all songs on iPhone music how do i add them back in? - 1

So taking in some advice, i deleted all the music on my iphone (in settings > genera > usage > manage storage) and I did it because there were double-ups of songs so i wanted to remove everything then add the songs back in. However when i synced it again on my iTunes to add the music back in, it synced very quickly and completed, but the music didn't appear in my iPhone, I have an empty library. I've tried to backup my phone and that doesn't work.
