Forgot password on iPhone 5s?

I forgot the password to my iPhone 5s, I recently deleted all of my touch id fingerprints. I tried to reset my phone but it is telling me that I can t until I turn off; find my iPhone on the icloud setting on my phone, but I cant access it and turn it off because I cant unlock my phone!

i left with my mom and left my phone on charger. I came back and my brother had his phone on charger. He told me my phone was right next to him but I did not see it. After a while I started to freak out and now I can't find my phone it's been 1 day since it went missing in my house. And one more thing it happens to be turned off at that.

Buying an iPhone 5s from a guy who is using it on AT&T. Will it work for me?

I'm buying an iPhone from a guy on craigslist. He's legit and is going to meet me at the AT&T store. He originally bought an iPhone on an installment plan and lost it without insurance. He had to buy a refurbished phone from AT&T and had to PAY IN FULL for it. From my understanding if I get the phone it can't get a bad IMEI for not paying because he technically owns the phone outright and owes nothing for the phone itself? (I'm aware it can be reported as lost/stolen and get a bad IMEI though). I'm going to try to have him request to have the phone unlocked from AT&T when we are there as well. My main concern here - is there any way his phone is attached to his AT&T NEXT plan? Correct me if I'm wrong but after I factory reset the phone it will no longer be attached to his NEXT plan… I believe the IMEI will stay under his name but if defaults payment on his NEXT plan (not installment) would the phone get a bad IMEI? I feel like it could only get a bad IMEI if he owed money on the phone and not due to not paying for the service. Let me know your thoughts! I plan to use the phone on Cricket by the way.

Headphone broken in iPhone (read details)?

My girlfriend broke her headphone auxiliary plug inside of the headphone jack on her iPhone 5c. She can't get it out herself, and she already took it to apple but it isn't under warranty. What should she do? Is there any possible way to get it fixed? Anywhere she can take it to I get fixed?

Added (1). So this guy bought a 2-5c phones for him and his girlfriend and after a week he lost his and had to buy a replacement (a refurbished iPhone 5s from AT&T). After 2 months he and his girlfriend didn't like em and want Androids back. He sold his girlfriends on craigslist (I saw the link. Legit) and now he is selling his. In order for it to be unlocked he would have had to buy it full price from AT&T right? A leased phone would mean locked? Just don't want to get stuck with locked phone or bad ESN.
Added (2). I know the IMEI is clean at the moment… But I'm afraid that after I buy it, it could get a bad IMEI. What if he lied to me and bought it on lease(and not outright) and quits paying it? Wouldn't it be given a bad IMEI then? Is there a way I can find out if the phone has been fully paid for or not?

I was playing a game and it shuts off, so I went tp plug it in the wall an all it did was bring up the apple logo and shut off, so I plug it in the computer an manage to get it in recovery mode but when I go to recover it, it says faild… Ive tried the dfu mode, soft resets, hard resets, but the only thing it does is go to the screen for a restore mode… Any help?

Jailbreak problem, want to reset my iPhone?!

So I have had my iPhone jailbroke the past few months, and I am selling my phone in two days so I decided to remove everything and reset the phone but I am having a few problems.

I deleted all my tweaks, winter board, cydelete, font, etc and then uninstalled Cydia with deleted Cydia.

It would not let me delete 'My3G' and now it's just on my home screen I cannot delete it or even go into the app.

Local APStore and Phathom for Snapchat are also still there.

I reset my network settings etc from the settings but everything I try erase everything the phone turns off and freezes.

Also I cannot connect to my laptop because it keeps coming up device not recognized, I am selling the phone in two days so I Really NEED Help ON WHAT TO DO!

What is the best way to sell Apple products? - See details?

I recently won/purchased quite a few Apple products - x2 iPad Air (both white), x2 iPhone 5s (both black), x1 iMac 21.5".

As well as these I have also won a set of Beats headphones, a Kindle HDX Fire 7" and an iPad keyboard case.

They are all brand new, unopened. I would like to sell them for the RRP price (the price you would buy in store for them). I can lower the price by maybe £50, but I would like to get as much as possible for them.

How to trust someone you love?

After being lied to by my girlfriend i lost a lot of trust she was regainin the trust and did somthin stupid again and lost it all ots happened 3 times ( dont think she cheated but unsure) i was that paranoid that she was up 2 no good i put my apple id on her fone and used find my iphone to track her location 2 see if she was tellin the truth she wasent anyway she found out what i did went mental at me now i am no longer able to tell of she is where she says she is and yes i know its bad to even have to do that and i dont want to do that i want to trust her but feel as though i cant

I have even got 2 the point where i will go meet her from work and wait a good couple of hours before she has finished outside like some creepy stalker

But the reason i do that is because once she lied to me sayin she was at work and she wasent (tracked her iphone)

I know nothing will be better than android, but i just wanna change my taste. So the question is, what changes will i face? I wanna know every detail. Like i know whatsapp on iphone sucks coz we cant send songs or use offline (offline as in we sent messages and when it vot connected to a network they get sent automatically). Other than that, the music app. None of my friends who are ios owner ise music app coz idk theyre like we have to use itunes and stuff. I was wondering, if i downloaded a music player (like Google play) and a music downloading app, will the songs from the app appear in the player? Other than this, what changes? I'm still confused about the whole process, recently I was set up by a connect of mine and when I got there to meet him he was with a group of people, and he took my money, and was ordering me to empty out the rest of my pockets, some one came and reached into my pocket took my iPhone 6 and smashed it. Someone else punched me in the side of my head and they jumped my friend. I was scared for my life. Couple weeks later today, the police called me and told me they are getting a warrant for his arrest, if I testify in court and the defendant is found guilty, what compensation will I receive?

Compared to an iPhone that isn't jailbroken. I know the jailbreak isn't a virus by itself but what I'm asking is could a virus use the jailbreak as a backdoor to get deep level access to the iPhone and so infect it more deeply than could happen to a nonjailbroken iPhone?

it is an iphone 5c white, 32gig, an I was in the processes of playing a good game and it cuts off, was on 94% battery… Went to plug it in an all it did was bring up the apple logo an shut off, and kept doing that over and over again, so I plug it into iTunes on my laptop an put it into recovery mode and it tries to recover and it fails… It wont cut on at all ant it wont respond unless its plugged in, I tried dfu mode, soft reseting it, an everything,,, help?

Wifi dropping constantly, on my computer only?

On my desktop, not old, windows 7, the internet connection keeps going out for like a minute or two, a bunch of times a day. Its not disconnected totally, just has that little yellow exclamation mark. My iphone which also uses wifi is just fine, as is every other device in the house. I updated driver for my adapter a year or so ago but that didnt fix the problem (this has been going on for a while obviously)

My friend dropped my iphone 4 on the floor and the screen went blank, and it wasnt turning on i even tried holding the shut down and home button for a few seconds, when i got home i put it on charge and the apple logo appeared but it keeps showing the apple logo then going blank and showing the apple logo again, whats happened to it? What is a good swim pacing app?

I need a swim app that I can set specific intervals with iphone 6plus. I need one that can allow me to do ladders. I have an app called pacer. It sets intervals but I can't set different times. I need one that can do specific times. Example:

100 on the min

The app that I have now can only do one time along with rest in between

Hi, so I have an iPhone an my carrier is T-Mobile, I am a senior in high school and my mom pays my bill an she checks my call log and my texting log and my internet. I'm confused on why and how that information is even available? I turn my cellar data off and use the wifi when texting(iMessage) and browsing the Internet shouldn't that stop the information from being available to her? Went into the Verizon store and I told them I needed a replacement phone because my last one had broke and I wanted an iPhone 5 in white. They said it would be no problem and I'd have to come in the day after to get it since they didn't have any in white. I asked how much it would cost and they said just a penny? IPhone 5s spazzing out majorly?

Ok so I've had my 5s for just About a year now and it's always been just fine until a few hours ago. It's presses buttons randomly while I'm typin making this very difficult to type, it sends things randomly, it goes into apps randomly, it glitches some way and like combines screens for a split second or something, and it just does a bunch of wacko stuff like that. Iut only does that ( just now it took me to community guidelines?) when I'm tapping or slidin or somewhat touching the screen. Any help? By the way exc use any mistakes as the spazzing makes it hard.

What's going on with my iPhone 5S?

Been having issues lately. Will rarely read my finger to unlock the screen, sometimes the text message volume will be incredibly loud when I only have it set on volume 1 and my battery dies all the time. It will go from 40% to 12% instantly but the second I plug it in, it's back at 34%. I've let the phone die completely and have done a recharge, I never charge it overnight, I've deleted all my fingerprints and re-added them. Nothing is helping and I can't figure out what is going on.

So I have the iPhone 4G for almost 2 and half years. I'm planning to change it due to some disorders in like:
-kicking me out of the app.
-freezes, out of nowhere.
-screenshot lots of times doesn't.
-what's app freezes for like 3-5 minutes
-it became a slow after upgrading it to iOS 7.
-twitter and Email stopped working and I tried to fix them. Nothing changed.
-IMessage isn't working.
-screen is small and I have nearsightedness and Astgmatism and I need something wide to read from.

My dad wants me to buy iPhone 5s. And I'm not convinced because I've my own points.

My USB Port isn't working - basic troubleshooting not helpful?

I have a Toshiba Satellite U50D which has 2 x 3.0 Ports and 1 x 2.0 Port. I recently plugged in my iphone 5s into one of the 3.0 Ports and my laptop shut off straight away. I thought maybe it caused a surge of sorts. Since then both my USB 3.0 Ports haven't been working. I've tried the basic troubleshooting of uninstalling the drivers and such but nothing seems to work. Do I need to replace the ports or can they be fixed without cost?
Added (1). The USB 2.0 Port still works just fine but is on the other side of the laptop.

IPhone 5S hardware problems?

About a week ago, my iPhone 5S started acting very strange. Whenever I go into my "Messages" app, it either shows up as a blank white page or shows previous messages but the screen freezes on the page. Sometimes I am able to text but then it starts freezing again. I am unable to call anyone. My battery is drastically draining. My phone just decides to freeze randomly and will turn off by itself. When double clicking the home button to "close" apps, my phone freezes. I have tried to update to the new IOS 8.1.2, but whenever I choose the "agree" option, my phone doesn't do anything. Please help!

I plugged my iphone into itunes to update the software, but then it asked me if I wanted to back it up. I said ues, but then the prgress bar froze in this process and after a few hours I unpluggged it to go to school but it wouldnt work the phone just told me to plug it into itunes. On ituens when I plugged it in it told me I had to restore it. It said i would lose data if I did this but I would get a chance to recover the data. I have audio logs on my Phone I want from a microphone app. Can I recover them if I restore the iphone?

Can I switch phones from an iPhone 5c to an iPhone 4s?

I recently dropped and broke my iPhone 5c. The screen is cracked and does not function at all, so my phone is basically unusable (although the rest of the hardware seems to work- for example I can still use Siri.) Anyways, I don't want to spend the money to replace my 5c. My friend has a 4s that he does not use anymore, it's just sitting around, and the memory is already wiped. He's willing to sell this phone to me for a low price. I'd like to transfer my phone's memory to this 4s. However, the problem is that the 4s has a larger SIM card than the 5c, they're physically different sizes, so I don't think I can simply switch out the SIM cards and be good to go. My question is, is there some way that I can transfer phones to my friend's 4s and keep my same number, my contacts, my memory, etc?

Am I the only person who doesn't get Christmas presents?

Christmas is round the corner and it's the time of year where you get your Christmas trees out and start writing your wish lists. Every year I hear that their mum got them an Ipad or their dad got them an iphone and when they ask me 'Oh I didn't get anything'. It's been the same answer for 13 years. I've asked plenty of times why we can't have presents. 'Because we're not Christian, we're Buddhist.' I have a lot of Asian Buddhists friends who all get Christmas presents. I have one friend with a brother and sister and they have a tablet each. I'm not asking for an Ipad. I just would like something as a gist to fit in with my friends. I only got a present once in school from my secret Santa and it was sweets but my sister finished them all. Recently my friend got me a hot chocolate making set but my sister threw it out the window. When I told my dad he didn't do anything. I went outside and cleaned up the glass and marshmallows.

$500 to spend: DSLR with lens kit, Mirrorless with lens kit or good quality UltraZoom camera?

I'm looking to buy my first camera… IPhone just isn't cutting it any longer…

I'm on a budget and would like to spend less than $500, right now.
I am not opposed to the idea of an entry level DSLR, however I would really like to avoid spending thousands over the years if I can achieve similar quality in alternative camera types/ options.

Let me know what you think!

I would like to be able to shoot in inside and outside, macro, wildlife, landscapes.
I would like something that can handle zoomed situations… I have no problem getting close to my subjects, but sometimes you just can't!
I would also like to be able to blow up prints (24''x36'' max) if needed.

IPhone 5s charging very very slowly?

I've had my iPhone for 8 months now and I've never had any bother with it at all. Without any changes my phone has suddenly slowed charging rate by hours, struggling to pass 4% in 1 hour. It started when my phone charger wouldn't sustain a continuos charge and the lightning icon to represent the phone being charged would flicker on and off repeatedly.

Today I went out and bought a brand new charger in hope that it was only a fault with the original one. Upon connecting it to the wall my phone has been struggling to charge at all and I've tried it in multiple power supplies around my house.

Has anyone else had similar issues or has an idea as to what may have done this?

i was trying to download all my pictures off my phone, i was on itunes it told me to update, i do not have my phone backed up so i decided to so i can save everything because im switching to a new phone. It updated then my phone shut off then itunes said i need to basically "Restore"?

Help! I wanted to add a few new songs to my iphone and when I wanted to listen to it later, I noticed that all of my other 200 songs were gone. Did I miss something in the syncing process? Should I change my settings? Im sure its something simple.

So my dad took my screen to be fixed as it was smashed so the guy put in a new screen but it wasnt properly in so he took it back the next day and superglued it and now the middle part of the phone is able to be pushed down. Now at the top of the phone half it is in and the rest is out being held with superglue. What shall i do?

What camera do you recommend?

There is a good chance that I am going on exchange next August, and am looking into a camera that I can use for both photography and videos. Clearly I do not know much about cameras, however I really want better quality photos and videos than what I can take on my iPhone 5S.

I was looking into the Canon SL1 or the Canon t3i, but I m sure there are other options for around the same price (or less expensive if at all possible?). Also, what should I look for when looking at the specifications?

How to afford an apartment on your own?!

I have wealthyish parents who have always paid for everything, college, clothes, phone, groceries, etc. I dropped out of college and want to make my own way. And she keeps telling me she LOVES him and she would kill her self if he broke up with her! She knows him for 2 weeks god dammit! My macbook won't acknowledge my iPhone?

It has recognised my iPhone 5 before hand, and this is the only connector cord that I can use before anybody suggests that. No pc or laptop will acknowledge it but the cord isn't broken because when I plug it into the wall it works perfectly fine.

I never rented Kung Fu Panda, but it is on my purchase history. I checked my bank card statements. I was not billed for it.
I never ordered the U2 album, but it is in my cloud. It is not in my purchase history. I do not know the date, so I cannot look on my bank card statements.
I did purchase three ringtones. They all disappeared from my cloud. Only one appears in my purchase history.
I purchased three more (two were re-purchased). They are all in my cloud, but refuse to download.

Does this happen a lot? I have not seen this before.

UnAuthorized charges to my bank account?

Someone got my bank info and charged $1500 from my bank account for my insurance policy. They went through the geico express pay and entered all my info. They used there cell phone to do it. Can I do anything legal about this? Can they track the phone? Or can the cops? Can they find out who is registrered to the iPhone? This had gone way too far!

My iPhone 3gs screen is dim after water damage?

My phone sat outside for two days in the rain but when I found it I immediately powered it off (surprised that there was still power) and removed the SIM card dried it off and put it in rice for a week. It worked perfectly fine after that but now, about a month or two later, the screen is very dim. This happened the other day but I just reset it using the home and power button and that fixed it but now nothing will fix it. Changing the brightness doesn't affect it at all and it's almost to the point of not being usable. What caused this and is there a fix? Thanks for your answers!

Even though the whole "mine is bigger than yours" game has crept its way into smartphone displays, I love compactness far more than a stroke to the ego. In fact, I would like to see Apple release an iPhone with a screen size smaller than that of the discontinued iPhone 4 (3.5"), just for the sake of being simple, small, and unnoticeable in my pocket.

Where can I donate purses I don't use anymore?

So I have some purses that are in good condition. One is a really tiny cross body that can't even fit an iPhone but can fit money, credit card, etc. I guess people will use that if they go to a wedding or party. Another is a Mudd brand purse. The last is like a makeup carrier purse thing. Two of these purses were given to me (well only because she was moving and didn't want the clutter, I thought i would of used them but 6 months later I never did. I was just thinking about things recently such as how ludicrous it was that people spend so much on useless or simple objects when the same amount could actually go towards something with much use or purpose? Like how a spare $300 could buy you a low end laptop instead of armani sunglasses. I m 20 and the most expensive thing I ve ever owned is a $750 laptop. Which I feel is a lot, but is small potatoes compared to the car owners, rickenbacker owners and macbook owners my age. It s weird to think that there are some (rather wealthy) 6 year olds which already hold ownership of more valuable items than i ever have. But for many people older than i d say their car is the most expensive thing they ve ever owned because many people just rent and never become business or homeowners. Some of you own businesses, houses and cars i m sure. I guess my college degree will be most expensive thing I ve ever owned if and when i get it. Also some people spend like $700+ on the latest iphone. Even though its supposed to be a phone. And mobile phones often break, get lost at a festival, get stolen (anywhere), get dropped down the toilet or are upgraded after becoming "obsolete" two years later.

Random Numbers Keep Calling Me?

So i have an iphone 5s and ive had it since march and have never had this problem they call at 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 in the morning some of the numbers call over and over again ive already blocked these numbers but how to i stop different numbers to call me i have never answered any of them because i don't answer number if i don't know it… Some of the area codes are 855, 424, 310, 201,800,805, and some are just random numbers and 00000000 please help its starting to get super annoying and scary

I recently purchased a factory unlocked iPhone 5 on the web, on the description it said "Factory Unlocked" and when it came in, and I tried to connect it to iTunes, it says "SIM Card Required" and I can't get passed that screen.

Does that mean that it is unlocked and that all it needs is a SIM Card?

I also have an old Cingular SIM, which I just discovered is not compatable with the current iPhones.

If I get a new Nano SIM, will ATT charge me for the data plan? & will I be able to stick to my current plan with my family?

Dropped Iphone 5s in water?!

So, I dropped my Iphone in water yesterday… Actually in the toilet. I was really stupid. Anyways, I turned it off and stuck it in rice for 24 hours. When I took it out today it turned on was doing great. The sound was working, everything was working. Then, siri would randomly turn on and the home button wouldn t work. I shut it off again, its almost dead (the battery) and I m really afriad it won t work. Is there anything I can do? My parents would get really mad if they found out I broke it. I know this was my fault and it was stupid. So please, if anyone knows anything else I can do please let me know!

Dropped iPhone 6 and it cracked?

I dropped my iPhone 6 on the cement about a week after getting it. I didn't have a case for it yet so it cracked around the entire screen. It worked fine then it started to get these lines through it and it's hard to navigate the screen now and I can't see the percentage my it's on. Now today it won't turn on at all. I've tried everything, held the home & power button for a long time, everything. We don't have apple care. How much would it cost to get a whole new one and would I have my same number?

Added (1). I have an iPhone 4s 8gb and the storage is getting full. It is mostly getting full with "other" so factory resetting it will get rid of most of this "other" (I think) so if I did factory reset it, would my SIM card and everything still work after. I will save all my contacts on a piece of paper etc so I still have them.

I had the same problem with my iPhone 4 and it kept doing that and every while it shuts down at 7% than 10% than 15% than 20%! And I had to sold it! I really don't want the samething to happen to my iPhone 5! Because my parents won't buy me another phone? I don't have warranty and I can't change the battery because it's expensive!

Dropped iPhone 5 in the toilet, still works?

I dropped my phone in the toilet this morning (oops) minutes before I had to catch the train for school. It was in there for literally a second or two, not more! I dried it with a towel and my hair dryer on the lowest setting (I now know that was a stupid idea).
As far as I know, it's still working properly, but I'm at school and can't put it in rice or anything.
Should I worry about charging it or plugging my earphones in?

Stranger asks for my iPhone: scam?

i was at the mall food court with family and some seemingly friendly looking guy in a coat with a bible approached asking to use phone to text someone. We are suspicious and start asking him questions and he gives shady replies. I don't give him the phone but he goes up to some other guy and convinces him to lend his phone. Turns out he types out a long message about some crime on the dudes phone and then leaves. Super weird.

Any clue what that's all about? Was it a scam or a set up? Everything about it is shady.

He came to me and asked me to sell an iphone 5s and I said ok but Im not doing it for free and he has to wait 2 weeks as paypal could always take the money back. when I try to FaceTime someone, I can hear them but they can't hear me but if I call them normally we can hear each other? Tried some other voice recognition apps and they can pick up my voice too it's only FaceTime, and I didn't accidentally mute myself either!

IPhone 6 Plus slightly bent?!

Hello, I recently bought an iPhone 6 Plus 3 weeks ago. After reading online that the iPhones 6 Plus had a bending problem, I took mine out of its case to make sure it wasn't bent. To my surprise, it was slightly bent… Now, I take good are of my stuff (and especially this iPhone since it cost me $1000!) so I know I didn't cause this! I am very disappointed with Apple since I've already talked to a "Genius" and chatted online with Apple Support and both have said it's considered "accidental damage" and therefore can't do anything about it. I would have to pay $300 out of pocket to get it replaced. Accidental damage? How? My iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S and 5S never bent in my pockets! This is obviously a flaw with the design of the iPhone 6 Plus and the materials used (aluminum) and Apple is trying to blame me?
Anyways, I'm posting this to see how many other iPhone 6 Plus users have encountered this bending problem and if you did, what actions did you take? We're you able to get it replaced or no? And if yes, how? Or if no, what are you doing to keep it from bending even more? I'm disappointed with Apple right now. I didn't pay $950 for a bendable phone…

Iphone 6 battery dies fast?!

Everytime I look up it's dropped a percent and I look pretty often. I always fully charge my phone and never take it off my charger until its full and i dont touch it while it chargers. I'll plug it in usually around 50-40 percent to fully carge again because i read how its good to do that instead of charging whennits fully dead or under 20 percent. My brightness is half. And i'm not sure what else to do. I am on it a lot usually but close my apps constantly too. Help! Any ideas on what to do?
If it is a battery problem i dont have insurance on my phone through sprint but will apple take care of it anyways since its a phone problem?!

Ok so I want to buy my son an iPhone 5s on Saturday December 6 2014. But my phone bill is the next DAY December 7 2014 Sunday. I don't want to add on the line and get charged for it the next day on my bill. So I wanted to know if I can go to the store on the 6th and pay my phone bill early and then add on the line. So that way the bill won't go up right then because I will have already payed the bill. So the bill will go up for the next time. Is this possible. I have had the same email address and password for years,
it works fine on my Imac and macbook air,it will work fine on my iphone6 for a few weeks but every so often my iphone rejects it.
I have tried deletring the account in settings/mail then resetting it, but it still get the same message

I bought a gold Iphone 6 at the AT&T store last week, and the estimated delivery was 3-5 days later. It said origin scan, then departure scan, then ready for ups. It shipped 5 business days ago from a city less than hour away from me and I haven't gotten any updates. It seems like it shouldn't take that long to get here or at least any updates of it moving. I also has an "unavailable" delivery date, and at first it said "in transit: on time" now it just says "in transit" if that makes a difference. I'm just not sure about anything with UPS so anything helps, thanks I'm advance.

in our share everything Verizon plan, we had 1 IPhone contract activated in October 2012, and 3 in March 2013. I recently sold an IPhone 4 on the internet however the buy is saying he has a problem?

He bought the phone off ebay about a week ago, and received it the other day; however, he set me an email saying to access the iphone he needed my apple ID since it was still linked to the phone or I need to delete the device off my account which I don't know how to do, but I am positive I restored the phone to factory settings erasing any details off the phone so I don't know how it handle this, when I've set up iPhones before I could enter my apple ID later in the process, its never being a requirement, and I don't see why it isn't giving him the option of logging in with an alternative ID, can someone tell me if hes trying to get my details or telling the truth- the card linked to my ID has expired anyway so he couldn't purchase anything, are there any other risks involved

Why Does My Singing Voice Sound Good, but it Sounds Bad On Recordings?

My choir teacher and everyone who knows me says I have a good singing voice and even when we have a solo and ensemble festival in front of people we don't know they say I have a good voice and they all say I match pitch really good (they would tell you, if you have a bad voice) anyways when I record my voice on Voice Memos on my iPod and/or iPhone it sounds like crap! I don't know if I really do suck or if its the voice memos. I read that recordings are your real voice so do I really suck or is it something else?
