I have an older friend that i know is being scammed i'm just not sure how its going to happen. Today he was sent an Iphone 7 that is for her. The address had a random name. She also sent him flowers from a random name a few weeks ago. They were for his birthday when it wasnt even his birthday she just told him to take them. But she's been wanting this phone forever. He said her "aunt" from africa contacted him and told him that she is going to send him the phone as a surprise for her. She's been telling him she wants to visit soon. And after giving him a bunch of crazy prices and some story about how she had to take a taxi to the nearest airport. He decided to just buy her a ticket himself. So now she will supposedly be here in a few weeks and this phone has arrived today and since he wasnt home i signed for it. It says 2 day shipping and some random name with our address. (but she sent this phone weeks ago?)
I have other friends that have been scammed and i myself have ran into a few. But they usually ask for western union eventually and this lady has not.
but her picture a clearly fake and she has no online social media accounts. Or any trace of her name on google.
Does anyone have any insight?
