Added (1). We were traveling for an extended period internationally. I finally had to suspend data on my phone and buy and international Sim-Card.
I remember seeing an article yesterday about a problem with the new IPHONE 6 hardware that showed out as HIGH DATA USAGE, that was ultimately charged to the user's plan. I am starting to search about this before changing my sim-card back to the US card.
