I'm looking to add a home theater system. I have a 55in LG smart TV, LG blu-ray player, and outdoor speakers. We want a reasonably priced receiver that has the following capabilities:
multi-zone (outside speakers)
iPod/iPhone connectivity
Pandora/Sirius Internet radio
Control music with app on our iPhone (i.e. while sitting outside we don't have to go inside to play something different)
Surround sound for Movies
We are open to speakers in a set or separately… but what do we need to check for compatibility?
We can connect the receiver directly to our network, but would like wi-fi and bluetooth, too.
There are so many choices and models. I know to weed out ones because of network connectivity and multi-zone, but beyond that I don't know how to choose. I want something reliable, easy to use, and not too expensive (middle of the road). I want decent sound but it doesn't have to be high-end concert sounding.
We don't use video gaming consoles, or anything beyond the basics.
