Iphone 5c faulty after warranty - EE Vs APPLE, who's responsibility is it to replace it?


I bought the iphone 5c November 2013. It was replaced last year April. Now this one has packed up and isn't working properly. Because it has been over a year, apple said that it is a known fault with this model but because it is out of warranty, EE have to change it. I should explain that its consumers law. EE are saying I should go through insurance as that's all they can do for me. But it will cost me £50. Consumers law sates i have the right to cancel my contract and get full refund but other law state otherwise. Where do i stand? What should i do next?
