IPhone LCD not working after water damage?

So I dropped my iPhone 5S (about 2 months old) in the toilet yesterday and it seemed to have survived unscathed once I'd dried it in a bag of rice for a few hours. I put it on charge last night, woke up and the LCD is suddenly completely fried; it's displaying nothing and is not just a backlight issue. The phone still works as I am able to input my password from memory and receive text messages and app notifications. I have reset the phone to factory settings and this has not helped. The nearest apple store is 30 miles away and, as I am currently away from home, I have no means of DIY fixing the screen, so any non-hardware fixes would be appreciated. Thanks!
