Why does my iPhone 6 produce corrupt video files?

When I record a long video with my iPhone 6 the video will end up being corrupted. The video plays fine on the pone its self but is unable to be played back on my computer. Here is the error it gives me: "The document “IMG_65.MOV” could not be opened. This media may be damaged." I cant seem to figure this out because when I record short videos that are around say 5 minutes long this doesn't happen. If anyone has a solution/answer to why my phone is doing this that'd be great!

I am also running on iOS 9.2

My OS X Version is 10.9.5
