Can I get a replacement iPhone if mine isn't working?

I bought an iPhone 5 about 3 months ago and didn't insure it with the phone company. However, ever since I got it it's been getting terrible signal and at least once a day I'm left without signal for over an hour and it drops about 80% of the calls I make.It's very frustrating and it's been doing this since it arrived so it's definitely not because of something I've done.

I was wondering if I take it to an Apple Store and explain can I get a new one? What about warranty?
