My iPhone 6 fell in the toilet, will it be okay?

It slipped out of my hand and fell into the toilet, it was probably submerged for 1 second. I was watching a video, the audio immediately stopped working when I took the phone out.

I quickly took of the case and put it in a pot of rice. I read that I should turn the phone off so I went back and turned it off and put it back in.

How long should I leave my phone in the rice? My brother dropped his phone a month ago and the audio didn't work at first but it did later and now his phone works fine.

But I have also read stories of how once water touches the phone, corrosion starts and it's too late. Do you have any stories of your own? Tips?
