How long should I put my iPhone 6 plus in rice?

I just accidentally dunked my phone in a bathtub full of water for no longer than 10 seconds. I looked at the screen and the signal was gone. Then, it completely shut off and kept going into the black apple logo screen. I put it in a bag of rice for about 3 hours and being the impatient girl I am, I tried plugging it in. Well, it charged until the Apple logo appeared and then it completely shut down. Now, I have it in rice again.

How long should I leave it in there? If possible, is about 12 hours okay, or should I keep it in for longer? As for most people, that phone is honestly my lifeline. I can t do much without it. Any help would be great. Thanks!
