I have an iPhone 4s and i want to back back up and save everything! Embarrassingly i'm not that clued up about all of my options which i feel is a bit of a waste when owning such a nice phone!
Here are some things you may find useful when answering:
- The most important things to me that i want to back up are my photos and messages (texts, iMessages and whatsapp messages!). Anything else i could live without keeping, but i'm a pretty sentimental person and NEED these!
- I have just downloaded the Skydrive app and currently backing up about 3000 photo's… though it's very slow and i'm not sure to what extent that i can trust it or i can access them, and put them back on my phone should i lose them?!
- I've never updated my iPhone since i got it in November 2012… as everyone always seemed to be losing all their data which scared me! So i'm not running on IOS 7.0.4 but i really want to update as soon as possible! (I believe i'm on 6.0.1)
- It says It's never been backed up but i'm sure it has?! And would it be to iCloud? The maximum is 5GB and i believe it stopped backing up when i exceeded this limit (not sure what was included or how i can access any of it!).
I just need it all explaining to me really; I'd be very grateful for anyone to spare some time and tell me my best options for (secure and reliable) free storage and how i'm able to put stuff back on my phone should i lose it?
I was thinking of downloading the dropbox app too, but how would i save texts to anything? Should i save different things to different places? I.e. put messages into iCloud?
