I'm out of contract with AT&T, with a 3Gs.My son tells me I should buy an unlocked 4s from a private party to preserve my unlimited data plan. Aside from taking the usual precautions for a high dollar private transaction, are there other concerns? If I walked into an Apple store with a question about using the phone, could they tell its status, and if so what could they do to me? Also, is unlocking a phone the same as jail-breaking it?
